Lies in Quotes

Deception is a concept which is a worthy subject for public discussions for it may evoke a great amount of controversial opinions or just different thoughts on the notion of lies and its different types. Many famous people expressed their opinions on lies which are now being cherished in quotes collections.

For example, Aesop once said that even when a confirmed liar tells the truth, he or she is still disbelieved by other people who got used to constant deceptions. Aristotle was of the same opinion, he also added a few thoughts regarding the issue – according to his view the least deviation from the truth will multiply a thousandfold afterwards.

William Blake suggested his rhymed thoughts on lies: 'Truth that's told with bad intent beats all the lies you can invent', means he thought that some lie types are quite excusable.

Epictetus – a Greek philosopher supported a more harsh opinion and said that 'liars are the cause of all the sins and crimes in the world'. Of course, thinking like suggests sticking to extremes while it's always better to stay in a golden middle when reflecting on such concepts as lies – if you are flexible enough you will reach harmony within your ideas on any notion.
