Lies and Friendship

Deception in friendship often brings along the notion of betrayal because as a rule treason is accompanied by a huge pack of lies often mixed with hideously outrageous actions.

Self-deception is a controversial issue if viewed in the light of friendship – if it's healthy enough, then it can even work wonders with you or your friend; in case it's not – then one of you will suffer. Distortion of facts on the site of one of two friends isn't usually followed by disastrous consequences because people whose communication is most of the time is healthy and harmonious will hardly ever get upset after a few cases of misunderstandings.

But let's not count little white lies because they are often excusable, but whoppingly monstrously lying to a good (or – God forbids! – best) friend equals destroying some sacred values and 'dirtifying' the most pure and untouched areas of people's relations.

Certainly, there are shotgun situations when a person has no other choice but to deceive his or her best friend – cases differ, but generally speaking, these occurrences very often lead to a not too happy end of friendship.
